Cox Charities was created in 1996 to support our community beyond the company’s corporate contributions. Acting as a fundraising and grant-awarding arm, Cox Charities is dedicated to supporting nonprofit organizations throughout Arizona that focus primarily on youth development. In addition, Cox Charities hosts an annual pledge drive that encourages Cox employees to donate to their favorite charities.

Early in 2007 at the annual Cox Charities picnic, Cox employees in Phoenix enjoyed meeting the 60 Valley charities that were selected to receive more than $350,000 in grants.

Employees also learned how these funds be used to better our community — like Phoenix Youth at Risk (PYAR), a group that provides one-on-one mentoring to homeless kids living in shelters with their families, and StandUp For Kids, an agency providing high school and college students the opportunity to speak to junior high and elementary school students, encouraging them not to run away but instead remove themselves from abusive situations.
